HISTORY
1968 Foundation
DZU was founded in 1968 for disk drives manufacturing. Its vertically integrated structure provided the manufacturing of basic assemblies and components built in the disk drives.
1969-1987 Expansion of disk drives range
A wide range of disk drives were put into production complying with the best world achievements - disk drives with removable disks, floppy disk drives and Winchester type hard disk drives.
Late 80-ies Summit
DZU strengthened its position as the only manufacturer of disk drives in Eastern Europe. New generation of 3.5" HDD was implemented. In 1989 the production volume of the company amounted to 1.620 billion USD and in that year DZU was the company with the biggest profit in Bulgaria
Early 90-ies Loss of the markets
